Dr. Mary Jean Koontz: Bio
Dr. Mary Jean Koontz has over 20 years of experience in marketing strategy and market research for Fortune 500 clients, including Bank of America, Applied BioSystems, Mercedes Benz, Yasuda Fire & Marine, major universities, and Silicon Valley start-ups. Her career also includes international consulting for political and environmental organizations.
As an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University, in San Francisco, Dr. Koontz teaches market research, international marketing, social media marketing, consumer behavior, marketing management, and international business. She holds a B.S. degree, foreign service, from Georgetown University (1984); an MBA from the University of South Carolina (1989); and a doctorate, business administration, from Golden Gate University (2006). Her dissertation focuses on the impact of software to manage relationships between pharmaceutical companies and physicians. She has lived and worked in Japan, Thailand and Germany.
